This is a place of layered contrasts: colossal, columnar trees rising in solemn rows while smaller saplings twist in bewildered spirals; pale, phosphorescent fungi nestle in shadowed hollows; clear pools mirror the sky with unsettling fidelity, sometimes showing not the present light but echoes of other nights.
